Bubituzak

About Bubituzak

As the Turkish rock music community began to regain public visibility and develop a new courage to express itself openly in the 21st century, Bubituzak were one group that attracted both local and international acclaim. Formed in Istanbul in 2011, Bubituzak feature musicians Ali Güçlü Şimşek (guitar), Görkem Karabudak (bass guitar and keyboards), and Emrah Atay (drums). Playing a stylish mix of vintage pop and psychedelia with surf guitar-inspired leads, Bubituzak first made a name for themselves backing up pop vocalist Gaye Su Akyol on-stage and in the studio. In 2014, Bubituzak broke out on their own with their debut album, Uzay Yolları Taşlı. A year later, they released their musical score for the film Bir Varmış Bir Yokmuş. And in 2017, Bubituzak started their own record label, Dunganga Records, launching the new enterprise with their third album, Boyutlar. ~ Mark Deming
