Born and raised in Tromsø, Anneli Drecker, who was a popular actress before she became a professional musician, is a Norwegian singer, composer, arranger, and keyboardist who is best known as the frontwoman for the gothic pop band Bel Canto. She has recorded and toured with a diverse range of artists including Jah Wobble, a-ha, Röyksopp, Tom Waits, and Jan Bang, to name a few, and has released numerous evocative solo albums, including Tundra, Frolic, and Rocks & Straws. ~ Thom Jurek
