Tim Hecker: Deep Cuts

Rolling like a stormy sea, Tim Hecker's music derives much of its power from deep turmoil, but it's also characterised by a calming energy. “Music for Tundra Pt. 1” crumples strings and guitar like sheets of cellophane, while “GRM Blue I” pairs flickering electronics with a pastoral flute melody. Even “Atlas Two” evokes not the weight of the world, but the evaporation of matter.
