Suzanne Vega Essentials

Suzanne Vega Essentials

When Suzanne Vega emerged from the Greenwich Village folk scene with her 1985 debut, she heralded the arrival of a new kind of folk singer who was more influenced by Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson than Pete Seeger or Bob Dylan. Her second outing, Solitude Standing, went gold and boasted a pair of Top 5 hits that made her name. And while her subsequent releases have never equalled that level of commercial success, Vega has never stopped pushing the creative envelope, whether working in a stripped-down acoustic mode or blending her sound with touches of electronica.
