Since debuting on the reality-TV smash Popstars as part of Australian girl group Bardot in 1999, Sophie Monk has brought her radiant charisma to multiple facets of the entertainment business. When the chart-topping act parted ways after only two albums, Sophie Monk carried on Bardot’s effervescent dance-pop with her 2003 solo album Calendar Girl before pivoting to movie acting and starring in (later hosting) a bevy of successful reality shows. Circling back to her early jazz training, Monk slips into the surprising role of an old-school torch singer on 2021’s “Nice to Meet You”, her first single in well over a decade.
