Shelmi: Influences

French trio Shelmi make music for a melancholy age, their cool urban pop taking inspiration from the sleepy downtempo trap made popular by acts like 6LACK, as much as they do from the genre-fluid psychedelic hip-hop of Travis Scott. But as well as looking to the US, their sound also reflects French contemporaries such as Jeanne Added and her avant-garde take on R&B.
