Though born in Worcestershire, beatmaker and producer Will Holland (a.k.a. Quantic) has drawn influences from styles all across the world, establishing a lighthearted, breezy sound that's all his own. Debuting in the ‘00s, he has shown a soft spot for soul music through numerous collaborations with vocalist Alice Russell, as in the folky “Look Around the Corner” and the strutty funk of “Pushin' On”. But some of his brightest moments come from his dalliances with Latin music: “Mi Swing Es Tropical” is a summery, cumbia-indebted slice of pop with a bubbly organ hook, while “Mishaps Happening” turns a bossa-nova rhythm into a rollicking breakbeat.
