One of Italy’s best-loved double acts, Cochi e Renato (aka Aurelio Ponzoni and Renato Pozzetto) enjoy a partnership that dates back to their childhoods. In the 1960s, they became nightclub staples with a groundbreaking new style of musical comedy. The pair daringly blended the surreal and the extravagant, often lampooning popular Milanese songs of the era by dramatising them. Television made Cochi e Renato national stars, and they continue to record and perform decades later, with the passing years having done little to dim the audacity of classic tracks such as “E la vita, la vita” and “Canzone intelligente”.
