About TISM
TISM (short for This Is Serious, Mum) is a pseudonymous, masked group of Australian pop pranksters who use their twisted sense of humor to viciously lampoon anyone and anything. Starting out as a more experimental rock group in the early 1980s, they soon developed a more accessible new wave and dance-rock sound, and gained notoriety for their confrontational performances and antics. Their studio albums hit the Australian charts, and when they embraced techno and rave influences, 1995's Machiavelli and the Four Seasons made the Top Ten and was certified gold. TISM disbanded following 2004's The White Albun, but reunited for live performances in 2022, following an extensive campaign of reissues and archival releases. They also rounded up their singles as Collected Versus.
