About the bluehouse

The Melbourne-based trio the Bluehouse blend folk, pop, blues, and rock to create a sound that has earned them a fan base that extends beyond their native Australia. The group was formed in 1995, when the three women met at a pub. Jacqueline Walter had discovered music and body piercing after an uncompleted stint at university. Samantha Harley, who had been musically inclined since her childhood, had been teaching, as had Bernadette Carroll. The trio released a self-titled EP in 1997, which sold through its pressing, and followed that release with the issue of a live EP. Since then, they've put out several more albums, including Big and 6 Minutes of Breathable Air. ~ Tom Demalon
