About Lianne La Havas

Influenced by Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, and The Fugees, English singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas began writing songs and teaching herself to play piano at age seven. ∙ La Havas worked as a backup singer for the theatrical English singer Paloma Faith before landing a record deal of her own in 2010. ∙ Is Your Love Big Enough?, her 2012 full-length debut, was nominated for Britain’s Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello Awards and was named iTunes’ Album of the Year in the UK. ∙ She contributed guest vocals to “Warm Foothills,” a dreamy cut from Alt-J’s hit 2014 album, This Is All Yours. ∙ Prince was such a fan that he had her sing on three tracks from his 2014 album, ART OFFICIAL AGE, as well as on “Mr. Nelson” from 2015’s HITNRUN Phase One. ∙ Her second full-length release, 2015’s Blood, received a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album. ∙ All three of La Havas’ albums, including her self-titled 2020 LP, have been UK Top 10 hits.
