About John & Heidi Cerrigione

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. We have wonderful memories of the summer classes we took at the Augusta Heritage Programs in Elkins West Virginia. Teachers such as Cathy Barton and Dave Para as well as meeting Neal and Coleen Walters for the first time, really changed our lives. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Atwater-donnelly, The Blackest Crow John McCutcheon, Water from Another Time Mill Run Dulcimer Band, Roses and Memories Music from these and many other recordings are always found in our Go-to playlists. It's also been our pleasure to have played with Atwater-Donnelly and members of the Mill Run Dulcimer Band. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Big Eyed Rabbit” We first heard this song from an autoharp friend June Maugery on her album "Shining Bright Like Gold". Always a favorite banjo tune of mine, we've added a playful twist here to the lyrics. Due to poor marksmanship, the rabbit doesn't meet his end! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? A.P. Carter's daughter, Janette Carter, founded the Carter Family Memorial Center in 1979. Being invited to play a couple numbers at the Carter Family Fold with our Band mates Neal and Coleen Walters was an experience we won't soon forget. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Retired now from performing since 2020, we are pleased that our recordings will live on in a digital format. We look forward to traveling and playing music together with the many friends and fellow musicians we've met along the way.
