Jason Upton

About Jason Upton

A Wisconsin-based pastor who also pursues a career as a praise & worship recording artist, Jason Upton released his first recordings early in the 2000s but gained popularity over the course of the 2010s. Born December 15, 1973 in Minneapolis, Upton was raised in a Christian family. At the age of 15, he began ministering and he started traveling through the United States preaching. He released his debut, Key of David, in 2000 as part of his Key of David Ministries. A second album, Faith, recorded live appeared in 2001. In 2002, he released the studio albums Jacob's Dreams and Dying Star, which were followed by Remember in 2003. Beautiful People appeared in 2007 and 1200 Ft. Below Sea Level arrived in 2008. He teamed with the Goodland Band for 2009's On the Rim of the Visible World; they also appeared on 2010's Family Music. Next up were three live albums: 2010's Live from Dublin: Songs, Stories and a Train, 2012's Glimpse, and 2013's Sunday Morning, Live in Winston Salem. Upton launched his A Table Full of Strangers project in 2015, releasing the first volume that year. A second installment, A Table Full of Strangers, Vol. 2, arrived in 2018. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
