Gospel Music Workshop of America

About Gospel Music Workshop of America

Founded in 1967 by Rev. James Cleveland, the Gospel Music Workshop of America is an annual convention bringing together fans of gospel from America, the United Kingdom, Africa and the Caribbean, ranging across faiths as diverse as Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Catholic and Mormon. With a membership numbering in the hundreds of thousands, the GMWA has recorded dozens of albums (for Savoy, Intersound, Benson and A&M) highlighting convention-wide mass choirs and more specialized units. ~ John Bush
