Fake Palms

About Fake Palms

Playing edgy, melodic indie rock with an emphasis on lean and powerful guitars and a strong rhythmic punch, Fake Palms is the brainchild of Michael le Riche, a Canadian songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who works alongside a floating cast of indie rock notables. Suggesting the elemental thrust of punk rock and the smart, energetic buzz of indie pop, Fake Palms aimed for a bracing, noisy tone on their self-titled 2015 debut album, but after experimenting with a slicker production on 2017's Pure Mind, le Riche and his collaborators stripped back the frills for a truer sound on their 2022 comeback, Lemons.
