About Dano's Island Sounds

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. First love of music came from the rhythm & blues and jazz songs of the 1960's. Dano reminisces, "Being around Dad, who would dance through the house singing melodies from the Rat Pack definitely had an impact on me musically." What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Andy Narell, Tatoom (feat. Luis Conte) The Police, Ghost in the Machine (Remastered) Trinidad Steel Band, Steel Drums Of Trinidad (Remastered) Ghost in the Machine, inspiring reggae mixed with pop rock. Very musically inventive. Tatoom, delightful steel pan compositions, arranging, production and performance. Steel Drums of Trinidad, the best old school steel pan Calypso. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Breathe” Praying for peace and unity during the world wide protests and violence in 2020. Composed "Breathe" as a prayer for humanity. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Performing summers with my steel drum and percussion duo at SeaWorld San Diego from 2004-2012. Founding member of RCA recording artist Gloritone and playing drums for artist Slightly Stoopid during the 2001 Vans Warped Tour. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To keep writing energetic musical atmospheres combining hooky riffs with driving rhythm. To perform worldwide highlighting the steel drum and traditional Caribbean melodies.
