Portishead guitarist Adrian Utley, long fascinated with composer Terry Riley's groundbreaking 1964 work of minimalism In C, formed his own group in order to perform it on select occasions. Consisting of 19 guitarists (including John Parish, Thought Forms, and Jim Barr), four organs, and a bass clarinet. They recorded In C at a performance in 2013 and released a recording of it on the Invada label that fall. ~ Thom Jurek
