In the Bleak Midwinter: Christmas Carols from King's

In the Bleak Midwinter: Christmas Carols from King's

In 2020, for the first time in 90 years, the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols was given without a congregation, though it was still watched by millions around the world. The music from that service, supplemented by four tracks recorded separately, has been gathered together and provides the first opportunity to hear this iconic choir under its new director, Daniel Hyde, over a full album. Mixing much-loved carols with some new works and arrangements, this is a joyous celebration of Christmas that accomplishes what the King’s College Choir does uniquely well—renewing tradition while always sounding freshly minted.
