Brendan Peyper: Country Vibes

Peppered with hits from James Johnston, Noah Kahan, Kip Moore, Josh Logan, Matchbox Twenty, Restless Road and more, Afrikaans singer-songwriter Brendan Peyper’s winter soundtrack mirrors his laid-back blend of modern country and dance-friendly pop. “I would trigger this playlist as soon as I’m on the road to somewhere, or in the gym, spending time with myself,” Peyper tells Apple Music. “I hope it tells you more about what influences me and where my heart lies when it comes to music.” On those influences, he highlights three tracks that help keep him grounded no matter the season. “Morgan Wallen’s ‘The Way I Talk’ is a story about being judged and mocked about your roots and where you come from. [It’s about] staying true to yourself no matter what. ‘Friday Sinners with Sunday Souls’ by Josh Logan is great to listen to while you’re in your 20s and still figuring life out. And ‘Fly’ by Jason Upton is the most pure gospel song of all time, about a man on a piano singing, when an angel joins him on stage with a three part harmony. [It’s an] unbelievable testimony.”
