As the driving force behind the spread of the British Invasion sound throughout Indonesia, Koes Bersaudara were no strangers to controversy from their beginnings in the early 1960s. As the band progressed through the decade so did their sound, incorporating rock and traditional Indonesian folk elements such as the keroncong. The shift, along with a change in line-up, was represented by a new name: Koes Plus. Touring ever since, the band is as lively, energetic and inspiring as they were at the very start.
