Lou Reed was so influential it's easy to overlook the fact that he, too, was affected by other artists during his formative years, and during his career. He got hooked early on jazz greats like Ornette Coleman, as well as doo-wop artists like Dion. Reed was also inspired by Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry's rock 'n' roll, Wilson Pickett's R&B, Dylan's folk and Bowie's glam.
