Leland: The Songwriters

After growing up closeted and quietly loving Y2K pop in a conservative Mississippi home, Brett McLaughlin, a.k.a. Leland, became a pioneer in bringing boldly queer dance pop to the mainstream. While that includes composing for RuPaul's Drag Race and teen comedy Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, it's his work with BFF Troye Sivan that gave us joyous gay-love anthems like "My My My" and cleared the way for slinky singles with pop queens like Selena Gomez.
