Sansara Essentials

Formed in 1997, Sansara have never conformed to the idea of the standard indie rock band. Instead they set their own philosophical agenda: their name is Russian for the "World”, and the group's music is inspired by Buddhist life principles. So they bring a lightness and levity to their songs—even when tackling dark material, there's a comforting sense of redemption and transformation. Their sound pivots around their influences, drawing on the experimental, electronic-infused ambience of Radiohead as well as the jaunty, rhythmic alternative rock of REM.
