With their jangling angular riffs and pop sensibilities, Glasgow's seminal Orange Juice have had a significant impact on indie rockers such as Franz Ferdinand and Belle & Sebastian. After a series of singles on the cult Postcard label, a switch to a major saw the Edwyn Collins-fronted band score some chart success with You Can't Hide Your Love Forever and Rip It Up before calling it a day in 1984. The group's legacy was eventually honoured by a lifetime achievement award at the 2008 Tartan Clefs ceremony.
