Camaromance: Influences

Since her debut in 2004, Montreal’s Martine Groulx—a.k.a. Camaromance—has moved beyond her singer/songwriter roots to embrace the atmospheric textures and rippling guitars of modern indie. So naturally, she’s drawn to artists like Broken Social Scene and The Notwist, who likewise straddle the experimental/pop divide. But Groulx has always retained a flair for the sort of vivid storytelling mastered by the likes of Neko Case and Bright Eyes.
