Alena Apina Essentials
Apple Music
Cutting her teeth with the disco-pop band Combination, the Saratov-born Alena Apina performed to sold-out stadiums while still a fresh-faced student. Her 1992 solo debut, Street Love, produced the breakthroughs “Xenia” and “Accountant”, but it was her follow-up album, Dance 'Til Morning, that would lead to eight straight hits. Whether juxtaposed with classic rock guitars, syncopated synths or electro-pop beats, her crystal-clear voice has been a Russian pop mainstay since the '80s. This Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation even paved the way for Russian musicals with her stage show Limit.
