About Will Gregory

British composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Will Gregory's extensive résumé includes sessions with several major pop and rock artists, orchestral works, operas, soundtracks, and electronic music. Playing saxophone, he recorded and toured with Tears for Fears during the 1980s, then later worked with Tori Amos, the Cure, Peter Gabriel, and others, while also performing modern classical pieces with ensembles like the London Sinfonietta and the London Saxophonic. In 1999, he formed the duo Goldfrapp with singer Alison Goldfrapp, and their music evolved from cinematic trip-hop to glamorous electro-pop, garnering critical acclaim (including an Ivor Novello Award and multiple Grammy nominations) and commercial success. Gregory's opera Piccard in Space premiered in 2011, and his soundtrack work includes Arcadia (2018, with Adrian Utley of Portishead) and the wildlife documentary Serengeti (2020). He formed the synthesizer group Will Gregory Moog Ensemble, which released Heat Ray: The Archimedes Project in 2024.
