A nickname like "The Golden Lung" doesn't come without some serious pipes—and it's easy to imagine Tomas Alfonso Zuleta Diaz, better known as Poncho Zuleta, blowing the roof off any concert hall in his native Colombia. Zuleta was first heard on wax in the late '60s and has released more than 50 albums in the years since, all showcasing his passionate, vibrato-heavy baritone. He often recorded with his brother, accordion master Emiliano Zuleta, and their bold performances—where vocals and accordion somersault together—created some of the most energised Vallenato recordings in history.
