Born in Hokkaido, SALU is one of Japan's biggest and brightest rap stars. Keeping his real name a secret, he has built a reputation for rhymes big enough for fellow countrymen SEEDA and Norikiyo to have him appear on their tracks. A long time hip-hop fan, SALU released his first album in 2012 to great acclaim. Mixing slick trap beats with an engaging flow which recalls Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, he effortlessly straddles the pop and rap worlds with his easy-going commercial appeal.
