Bird Thongchai is a versatile superstar who has excelled as an artist, singer, actor and entertainer. He likes to be known simply as Bird, though he is called Bird Thongchai, Bird Mcintyre or Pi Bird (as 'pi' means older brother in Thai). Bird had a difficult childhood growing up in a slum, but there was no shortage of musical enthusiasm in the family. Working in a bank, he met a well-known Thai TV producer who spotted Bird's talents as an entertainer. His first album Hadsai Sailom Songrao was released in 1985 and since then he's ruled Thai pop.
