About Conor Matthews
For much of his life, singer-songwriter Conor Matthews aspired to become a country music star. But his sudden pivot to pop set the tone for his success as a solo artist. • In 2014, after his freshman year at Belmont University in Nashville, Matthews met Joe Fisher of Universal Music Group Nashville. Fisher connected the aspiring artist with country superstar Keith Urban. • After Urban facilitated Matthews’ songwriting deal with Warner Chappell Music in 2015, Matthews began working with country veterans like Sugarland and Sam Hunt. • Although a promising country songwriting career lay ahead, Matthews turned to pop. He first grabbed attention with his 2016 acoustic cover of Chris Brown’s “Grass Ain’t Greener”. • Matthews soon began releasing original songs. In 2018, he debuted with the singles “I Told You”, “Tuxedo Camouflage” and “Love You Drink About”. • By 2019, Matthews had landed on the radar of label executive busbee, who signed him as the flagship artist of his joint venture Altadena. • Matthews released his debut EP, Balloons, in 2020.
