A turntablist, crate digger, producer and co-founder (with Luca Lozano) of electronic label Klasse Wrecks, Mr. Ho was born in Hong Kong but worked the music scenes in the UK and Berlin before moving back to his home city. Drawing from house, breakbeat and techno, he energises dance floors with finely tuned sets. “What you want to hear at 4 am in the club and what you want to hear at 8 pm at a festival are distinct things,” he tells Apple Music. “So it’s very important to understand the place and time, and prepare suitable music.” This DJ mix was recorded live in Hong Kong’s Mihn club, where he holds a residency. “That meant it had to serve the needs of the dancers on location as well as later listeners,” he says. “My goal was to use the songs I love on a musical journey suitable to both venues.” Spatial Audio technology gave Ho the tools to let listeners experience the energy of his live sets. “I’ve never really enjoyed live recordings because they don’t capture any of the live atmosphere,” he says. “Spatial Audio technology can let any listener feel like they’re right there in the middle of things. I find that really fascinating.”
