About Mikey Bromley

Mikey Bromley found fame as one quarter of the relatively short-lived British pop group Only the Young, replacing former member George Shelley, who, despite the lack of a "J" in his name, left the group to augment the trio known as Triple J into the quartet of Union J. Only the Young found success after winning a competition to play at Capital FM's 2014 summer ball, held at Wembley Stadium, sharing the bill with luminaries such as Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus, and David Guetta. They subsequently entered the 11th season of the British reality television music competition The X Factor -- although Bromley had actually auditioned as a solo artist on two occasions previously -- and made it as far as the live shows before crashing out in seventh place. In spite of their early exit, they announced in 2015 that they had signed a deal with Warner Music, which resulted in the release of their debut single, "I Do," in the summer of that year. The single debuted at number 53 on the U.K. singles chart, and the band decided to split in November 2015, citing disagreements within the management team as the reason. Bromley wasted no time in putting the wheels of his solo career into motion, and by February 2016 his debut album, This One's for You, written and recorded with platinum-selling songwriter and producer Jamie Sellers, hit the shelves. To coincide with the album release, Bromley undertook his first U.K. tour as a solo artist, under the title This Tour Is for You. As with the album title, the tour name was intended as a dedication to his loyal fans. ~ Simon Spreyer
