Toyko Incidents aka Tokyo Jihen had plenty of tricks up their sleeve, with artist Ringo Sheena's idiosyncratic songwriting and chameleonic performance blending with several instrumentalists to form a vivid, dynamic sound. In less than a decade, they released six albums—rotating alt-rock riffs, funky grooves, heady jazz and soul undertones. 2010's Sports mingled synth-pop and syncopated guitars. Meanwhile, on elegantly nostalgic single "Onnanoko Wa Dare Demo", from 2011's Dai Hakken, the chart-topping ensemble dabbles in big band swing.
