Named for cofounding siblings George and Amy, Australian indie poppers Sheppard ambushed the mainstream at home and abroad with the giddy rush of 2014's "Geronimo." That song's stirring dramatic arc was no fluke, and the Brisbane ensemble quickly built up a songbook placing widescreen production, layered arrangements, and skyscraping melodies on equal footing. Gilded with a glossy EDM pulse and U2-style guitar reeling, 2018's "Coming Home" proved just as catchy as the band's breakthrough, even echoing its communal chorus. They have a particular talent for elevating what could be campfire sing-alongs to the level of stadiums, and prove it with the earnestly romantic "On My Way."
