m-flo Essentials

It's fitting that m-flo debuted right before the calendar turned to 2000, as the group's blend of genres—especially dance and hip-hop—heavily influenced Japanese pop in the new millennium. The trio of Verbal, Taku Takahashi and Lisa made waves with their first two albums, on which songs effortlessly incorporated bouncy pop and rap with seamless transitions. Lisa eventually left and m-flo started working with a wide variety of J-Pop singers to create boundary-hopping pop powered by electronics and always pushing toward the future.
