LINKIN PARK: Influences

Many of the groups that shaped LINKIN PARK's nu-metal helped bridge rock and hip-hop. Faith No More's alt-metal anthem “Epic” boasts rap-informed howls and beats; Public Enemy and Anthrax teamed up for the body-slamming “Bring tha Noize.” Another key inspiration is industrial—namely the dense, static-smeared production Nine Inch Nails used on cuts like “March of the Pigs.”
