The J. Geils Band became rock stars in the '80s, but long before fame came calling, these Boston boys had been injecting old-school soulful sounds into the modern musical bloodstream. They had spent the '70s pounding out blistering blues (see their smoldering take on Otis Rush's "Homework") and stomping, sweaty, R&B-infused tunes like "Looking for a Love" and “Make Up Your Mind.”
