H ZETTRIO pulls from classic Japanese jazz ensemble but also adds a quirky, unique edge that's all their own. Keyboardist Masayuki Hiizumi, aka H ZETT M, assembled the group in 2013 with his former PE'Z bandmates—cellist Masahiro Nirehara and drummer Kou. Their debut, Mitsuboshi, is an endlessly playful collection of rollicking, piano-led jazz numbers. By the time they released 2018's Mysterious Superheroes, H Zettrio were exactly that, matching their enigmatic face paint with furious, driving rhythms as suitable for a movie soundtrack as they are for the dance floor.
