The relaxed rock and bright blues of Fernanda Takai have made her a fixture on the Brazilian music scene since the early ‘90s. She's cultivated the distinctly acoustic-driven sound of her solo career alongside fronting the rockier group Pato Fu, whose breakthrough album Gol de Quem? set her on a career to stardom. Her light, breezy vocals and beautifully melodic grasp of songwriting were apparent from her debut Onde Brilhem os Olhos Seus. Yet her comforting, gently uplifting sound belies an adventurous side expressed lyrically, in her art and in her books which explore her Japanese ancestry.
