Quebec City hardcore heavyweights DON’T TRY (formerly known as Boundaries) are a perfect storm of hulking metallic inspirations. The sludgy nu-metal of Turnstile and Stray from the Path informs the band’s thrashing riffage and wild-eyed hollers, while the frenetic pace and throat-shredding vocals favored by Comeback Kid and Terror course through their confrontational sonic bruising. Guns Up!’s slashing punk grooves, meanwhile, are a model for DON’T TRY’s aggressive outbursts.
