Blake Neely’s gripping, bombastic film and TV scores evoke action and drama wherever they’re heard. Hailing from Paris, Texas, Neely came up working on the blockbuster Hollywood films of the early 2000s, eventually writing for an impressive list of TV shows. The compositions he did for Everwood found innocence among folky strings and warm woodwinds, whereas his music for The Flash, like “The Fastest Man Alive (Always Late)” brings speed through colossal horns and pounding drums. His Riverdale tunes, like “If You Love Me”, find angst and wonder through their warm progressions and slowly triumphant guitar and percussion.
