Sauna Youth

U.K. band Sauna Youth was formed in 2009 from shards of the Steal and Captain Everything. They traded in punk for an angular noise pop sound. The group made a demo tape titled Planet Sounds, then followed it with their first single in 2010. The Mad Mind cassette came out that year, with their second single "Lists" and a split with Ale Mania in 2011. Dreamlands was released in 2012. After a 2013 single, the band began work on their second album, but they decided to switch instruments and form a second band, Monotony. Before the album's release, their new label Upset the Rhythm put out a split Sauna Youth/Monotony single in May 2015. Distractions was issued the next month. ~ Tim Sendra
