About Ocie Elliott

Ocie Elliott’s minimalist folk melodies are like tender peeks into the intimate conversations between lovers. British Columbia artists Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy are partners in both music and life, and their chemistry reveals itself with every gorgeous harmony. Shortly after the two musicians began dating, they started singing covers together, learning how to work and play with one another’s voices. His is soulful with a side of Ray LaMontagne grit and hers is soft, shy, and airy, like Feist at her most coy. After a couple of years performing at coffee shops, they began writing original songs together, many inspired by the lush surroundings of their home in Victoria. Since releasing their 2017 debut, Ep, they’ve dropped a number of short-but-sweet pastoral collections—including 2019’s We Fall In and 2020’s In That Room—all highlighted by Middleton’s agile fingerpicking and the duo’s warm, wistful interplay. In between releases, they like to cozy up in their Honda CR-V, where they often practice, record, and perform songs in the backseat—as if they couldn’t be any more charming.
