About NICO Touches the Walls

From 2004 to 2019, Japanese rock band NICO Touches the Walls released eight Top 20 studio LPs, sold out the famous Budokan arena, and provided music for a variety of notable anime shows. ∙ In their first year together, the quartet won a band competition at 2004’s Yamaha’s Teens’ Music Festival in Tokyo. ∙ “Broken Youth” became their breakout single after it appeared as the closing theme song to anime series Naruto Shippuden in 2008. ∙ In 2011, “Diver” was their highest-charting career hit, reaching No. 7 on the Japanese singles chart. ∙ After their power-pop track “Te Wo Tatake” was featured in a TV commercial, the band’s second 2011 release, Humania, earned them their first Top 10 album ranking. ∙ Between 2013 and 2015, they were nominated for three consecutive Best Music Video honors at the Japanese Space Shower Music Video Awards.
