Johnny Ray Daniels

Johnny Ray Daniels is a sacred soul and gospel singer, guitarist and pianist from North Carolina. Possessed of a rich, stirring baritone, he is also a self-taught guitarist and pianist. Though he recorded during the 1960s as a member of the regionally successful Soul Twisters, he has been playing gospel since the early '70s, and has served as the Glorifying Vines Sisters' pianist for decades. His first solo track appeared on Music Makers' Hanging Tree Guitars compilation in 2020, and offered another on the Sacred Soul of North Carolina set in 2021. Whatever You Need, his debut solo album was issued by Bible & Tire Recording Company in 2022.
