About SiM

Since forming in 2004, multi-genre Japanese rock band SiM has scored three Top 10 LPs and five Top 40 radio hits. ∙ SiM’s debut full-length album, 2008’s Silence Iz Mine, included the band’s first hit single, “Paint Sky Blue,” and their take on The Beatles’ 1969 classic “Come Together.” ∙ In 2012, they contributed their cover of “Something In the Way” to Nevermind Tribute, a Japanese covers LP celebrating the 20th anniversary of Nirvana’s landmark album. ∙ The band was nominated for Independent Artist of the Year at the 2013 Billboard Japan Music Awards. ∙ “Existence”—the lead single from their 2016 LP, The Beautiful People—became their first Top 20 hit on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 singles chart. ∙ They wrote the theme song (“A”) and an in-game track (“The Sound of Breath”) for 2017’s action-adventure video game Yakuza Kiwami 2. ∙ SiM’s 2020 LP, Thank God, There Are Hundreds of Ways To Kill Enemies, became their highest-charting to date, peaking at No. 2 on the Japanese album charts.
