From day one, the Meat Puppets proved country and punk weren't such strange bedfellows after all, with the rickety stomp of “Big House” and the lightspeed fingerpicking of “Enchanted Porkfist” equally suited to circle pits and campfire hootenannys. And they were still twisting the twang well into the 21st century: 2009's “Rotten Shame” whips up a jittery jangle into an open-road rocker.
