Although Alexandre Longo hails from Metz in France, the music he makes as Cascadeur feels like it originates from somewhere much more distant, if not totally otherworldly. It’s an effect caused by the combination of his ethereal voice and his tender, rich and layered melodies, which often sound like lullabies from outer space. Graceful, haunting piano is punctuated by unusual instrumentation and electronic flourishes—as well as the occasional vocal effect—to make music that is heavy with meaning, atmosphere and beauty.
