About Hank Snow
Canada-born country legend Hank Snow started out in the 1930s with a yodeling style heavily influenced by Jimmie Rodgers. In the '40s he adopted a more straightforward singing style. It was the dawn of the '50s, however, that made him a star, with such smashes as "I'm Moving On" and "A Fool Such as I" (later covered by the Rolling Stones and Elvis Presley, respectively). Snow is generally considered to have been the first truly worldwide country icon, his music reaching across the continents and influencing everyone from the Stones to the first wave of US rockabilly artists.
